Sahara

Sahara at 9 months old.
Sarah (Sahara) is one of the newest members of the Cincinnati Zoo's Cat Ambassador Program. Also new to the program is an Anatolian Shepherd puppy. The two are being raised together to highlight the relationship between the two species. In Namibia, Anatolian Shepherds are being used to protect livestock from cheetahs and in turn, protect cheetahs from being destroyed by farmers who see them as a threat to their livestock. CCF breeds, raises and trains the dogs. They are then given to the farmers. With their livestock being protected, the farmers are more willing to co-exist with the cheetahs.
While in Cincinati performing in "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now
Change", Brad got to meet and spend time with Sarah. (Sarah is about 6
weeks old in these pictures which were taken in mid November of 2000).
